For Book Publication:

Measure Press considers full-length manuscripts of poetry, criticism, and poetry instruction for publication year-round. To submit a manuscript, please follow these guidelines:

• Please remember, we are almost exclusively a publisher of formal poetry (e.g., poetry utilizing meter and/or rhyme). Please do not send us manuscripts of free verse unless we have specifically requested them;
• Poetry manuscripts should contain between 50 and 60 pages of poetry (textbooks and books of criticism will, of course, vary considerably);
• Poems should be single-spaced; prose should be double-spaced;
• We do not consider chapbooks or excerpts from full-length collections;
• We do not charge a reading fee, and all books are published under a standard royalty contract;
• Simultaneous submissions are permitted, but please notify us immediately if your manuscript is accepted elsewhere;
• Manuscripts should be submitted in one electronic file (MS Word, PDF, or RTF format only) and should include a cover letter, an acknowlegments page, and your contact information;
• Please submit all manuscripts via email at submissions@measurepress.net, and please be sure to title your email as "Book Submission";
• Please allow 3-4 months for our staff to read and consider your manuscript.
